The Board of Directors of the Galenica Group appointed Felix Burkhard and Jean-Claude Clémençon as new members of the Corporate Executive Committee on October 1st 2010. In so doing, Galenica is ensuring that the appropriate expertise is represented directly on the Corporate Executive Committee.
_The Corporate Executive Committee of the Galenica Group was strengthened with two new members on October 1st 2010: Felix Burkhard, Head of the Retail business sector, and Jean-Claude Clémençon, Head of the Logistics business sector and responsible for HealthCare Information (HCI).
_Both of the new members have worked for Galenica for some 15 years and have in-depth expertise as well as extensive experience in the Swiss healthcare market. Alongside the activities of Vifor Pharma and OM Pharma, the Retail, Logistics and HCI companies form the second strategic axis of the Galenica Group and make a considerable contribution to risk balance within Galenica and to the solid growth of the Group. They account for some 5,000 of the 6,500 Galenica employees.
_Felix Burkhard (44), lic.oec. HSG, Swiss certified accountant, was Head of Finance and Controlling at Amidro when it was acquired by the Galenica Group in 1996. He then became Corporate Controller for Galenica. In 2000, he became Deputy Head of the Retail business sector, and in 2008, he also took over as Head of the Amavita pharmacy chain. He has been Head of the Retail business sector since 1 September 2010.
_Jean-Claude Clémençon (48), degree in Logistics from the Technical College Zurich, PED from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, started his career at Galenica in 1995 as Operations Manager at the Galexis distribution centre in Zurich. He took over as Head of the distribution centre in Bern-Schönbühl in 1999. He was appointed Head of Galexis in 2002, and has been responsible for the Logistics business sector since 2005. He additionally took on the management of HealthCare Information on 1 September 2010.
