COVID-19: self-tests on subscription and vaccination commences in the first cantons
Wednesday, 5 May 2021
Four weeks after distribution of the COVID-19 self-tests began, demand is slowly stabilising, albeit at a high level. Amavita and Sun Store pharmacies are now offering customers a monthly subscription for five COVID-19 self-tests. These are delivered to the customer’s home free of charge. Select Amavita, Sun Store and Coop Vitality pharmacies were also able to start COVID-19 vaccination in the first cantons.
Demand for self-tests in Galenica’s 360 pharmacies – Amavita, Sun Store and Coop Vitality – remains high. Until further notice only five self-tests will be given out per person and per month upon presentation of a health insurance card in this first phase. The self-tests can also be ordered in the online shop and collected via Click&Collect in one of the select pharmacies.
Customers can now take out a COVID-19 self-test subscription at amavita.ch and sunstore.ch and automatically receive five self-tests delivered to their home free of charge every 30 days.
In addition to dispensing the self-tests, approximately 50 Galenica Group pharmacies are also continuing to offer rapid tests (antigen and PCR) on site. Customers can find information on this and the option to make an appointment online for a test on the websites of Amavita, Sun Store and Coop Vitality.
First pharmacies start vaccinating against COVID-19
In the cantons of Uri and Vaud, the first pharmacies have been able to start vaccinating against COVID-19. The responsibility for organising the distribution and registration for the vaccine rests with the cantons. The availability per pharmacy, in the canton of Vaud at least, is currently limited to 100 vaccine doses per month.
Preparations for the COVID-19 vaccinations in the other cantons are continuing at an intensive pace. Approximately 200 Galenica Group pharmacies will be able to offer this service. The cantons will determine when they will be able to start vaccinating.
