Creating New Spaces in Harmony with Our Culture

The world of work is constantly evolving, and Galenica is evolving with it. As part of our transformation, we are actively shaping the future. This is reflected not only in the way we collaborate, but also in the environments in which we work.

The evolution of our work environments can be felt throughout the Galenica network: from the new headquarters at Untermattweg in Bern to innovative workspace concepts at Alloga in Burgdorf and the targeted modernisation of existing office areas at Galexis in Niederbipp. In doing so, we are creating modern environments that meet the needs of today and tomorrow.

Work Environments That Reflect Our Strategy

Our goal is to create work environments that are more than just physical spaces. They should promote well-being, enable innovation, and bring our teams even closer together. All New Workspace projects across the companies of the Galenica network are based on shared space and colour concepts as well as common quality and functionality standards. At the same time, they support us in achieving the strategic objectives of our Transformation and Employer of Choice focus areas.

These new work environments are not just concepts on paper. They are already becoming reality at various locations across the Galenica network. Three current examples show how this vision is gradually taking shape.

Headquarters in Bern: Shaping the Future Together at U8

From the former tower to the temporary Swing Space and, eventually, to a completely reimagined headquarters: the U8 transformation project demonstrates how the workplace of tomorrow is already taking shape today. The project is driven by an interdisciplinary team of internal project members, architects, interior designers, and creative partners.

Isabelle De Iorio, Lead Workspace Design, is responsible for bringing all these ideas together into one coherent project: “The U8 transformation is far more than a construction project. We are creating work environments that make our culture visible, bring people together, and foster the connections we need for the future. Great work environments create the conditions for successful collaboration.”

The Temporary Workspace as a Symbol of New Ways of Working

Allogami: Reimagining Spaces in Burgdorf

Inspired by the art of origami, Alloga is transforming its office spaces in Burgdorf into a modern work environment under the project name “Allogami”. This new approach is already visible today in Alloga’s Working Coffee area. The redesigned space creates opportunities for informal exchange and cross-functional collaboration. What is a Working Coffee? Simply put, it is a café that offers more than refreshments. The space is designed not only for enjoying a drink, but also for spontaneous conversations or focused work.

Over the coming months, additional open, flexible, and inspiring workspaces will be created. This will gradually shape a work environment that not only reflects Alloga’s values but also brings its connection to the Galenica network to life. This is expressed through the application of shared New Workspace principles for workspace design, colour concepts, and use of space. These principles are already being implemented at U8 and will serve as a basis for other locations.

Step by Step Towards the Workplace of Tomorrow in Niederbipp

At Galexis, an important foundation has already been laid: individual offices have been opened up and team areas have been modernised with new office furnishings.

The next major milestone will follow in the second half of 2026. One area will be redesigned according to the shared concept for the Galenica network. This will make the new design and workplace principles visible and tangible in Niederbipp for the first time. The result will be a modern and attractive work environment that promotes collaboration and supports different ways of working.

In this way, a new work environment is gradually taking shape at Galexis as well, developed collaboratively and guided by a common vision.

Shaping the Future Together

Designing our work environments is about far more than infrastructure. It creates the conditions for effective collaboration, encourages exchange, and provides space for new ideas. By supporting Galenica’s values and goals, our work environment helps strengthen our corporate culture. It also fosters the growth and development of our people.
