New internal appointment of General Counsel and Secretary General
Barbara Wälchli, General Counsel and Secretary General, has decided to leave Galenica at the end of 2025. With Cécile Matter as the new General Counsel and Jürg Pauli as the future Secretary General of the Board of Directors, two experienced executives from within the company are taking over the reins.
Barbara Wälchli, General Counsel and Secretary General, has decided to leave Galenica at the end of 2025 to pursue a new professional challenge. We would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her tremendous commitment, valuable expertise and significant contribution to the successful development of the Galenica Group over the past years. She will support Galenica in specific matters until the end of the year and ensure a smooth handover.
Cécile Matter appointed new General Counsel

We are delighted that we have been able to fill the vacant positions with excellent candidates from within the company. Cécile Matter will take over as General Counsel on 1 November 2025 and will also become a member of the extended Executive Committee. She has been working as a lawyer at Galenica for almost six years and has supported the company in all legal matters with a high level of expertise, reliability and solution-oriented thinking. Previously, she worked at various commercial law firms. In her new role, Cécile Matter will head up the Legal team.
Jürg Pauli appointed new Secretary General
Also, effective 1 November 2025, Jürg Pauli will take on the role of Secretary General of the Board of Directors. In addition to his role as Chief Sustainability, Public Affairs & Transformation Officer and member of the extended Executive Committee, he will also be responsible for the Board & Shareholder Service, Tax and Insurance team, which will be integrated into the Sustainability, Public Affairs & Transformation division under the leadership of Heinz Schneider. With his many years of experience and strategic acumen, Jürg Pauli is ideally qualified for this additional role.
